Re: Spark Plug Question : NGK B-9HV or B9HS Super Combat

I use NGK B9HS for my Super Combat. Can not find local, get from Hodaka-Parts. Buy 4 or more at a time.

Re: Wombat Cylinder

Hey Guys, Bought bike about 7 months ago. Kicked it over, started right up. Been doing restore on it, finally got around to riding it 3 weeks ago. Runs good for about 10 min, then overheats, pops, leaky head gasket. Replaced head gasket with new one plus goop, ran bolts down to spec. Same thing, run...

Wombat Cylinder

Hey Guys, Got a 94 Wombat with head gasket leak. Pulled head and can see tiny bit of aluminum dust in ports, just enough to notice. Tried to pull cylinder off to check things out. Cylinder refuses to pull. Popped sides with rubber mallet. Sprayed WD 40 down stud holes. No joy. Over the years on othe...

Matt, what piston does the hot Wombat have, is it original heavy two ring stock, or something else ?

Mounted modified Super Combat chain guide on Wombat swing arm. Much easier to change guide than weld/modify swing arm.

Thanks Paul

Thanks for all you do to keep the Hodaka alive. I bought a Super Combat new in 1974. Rode for about 15 years, then sat in basement for 30 years. Six months ago did a restore, using SH parts. Now trail riding. Bike runs great, but I am not in the same shape. Just bought 1973 Wombat. Am setting it up ...

Bought a new one from SH. Be sure to get roller that goes with it. Also need same roller above swing arm pivot.

Re: 1974 Super Combat Lubricants

Have used Klotz at 40 - 50 to one in past. Had ring seize. Now use Yamalube or Formula K2 at 28 to one. Also let engine warm up good before riding. Yep, ran for congress back in the day.

Re: 1974 Super Combat Lubricants

Bought my Super Combat brand new in 1974. Still riding the old girl. Use Bel-Ray gear oil in case, one made for wet clutch (very important). Use 15 weight Bel-Ray fork oil. Pre-mix 28 to one in gas. Once had piston ring seize in grove at 40 to one. All oils synthetic.

Re: 100ll AV gas???

Bought a new Super Combat in 1974. Been sitting in basement for last 30 years. Did a restore on it and now ready to ride. I have a local supply of 87 octane straight gas. Problem is bike wants 92 or higher octane to run good. Have a bottle of "Hi Test" octane booster which seems to be most...
